Net Big Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?

Gus Hansen experienced a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to achieve closing poker table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. Gus secured a large pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the greatest bettors in the world. While wagering on online poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. Gus frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen usually buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I accept that Hansen is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the game with the min buy-in.

Buying in for the min takes most of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is assumed to be one of the best poker players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the full amount. I think tv can skew our perception of the real world every now and then. The greatest players in the world might be guys you have never heard about. Gus can be seen participating in web poker on Full Tilt. He commonly participates in big stakes omaha/8 and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his skills in money rounds?
