Internet Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

[ English | Deutsch | Español | Français | Italiano ]

Gus Hansen experienced a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to achieve last game in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest bettors in the world. While betting on net poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. Gus often participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus generally buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then goes all-in. I accept that Gus is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is penniless, he has little or no reason to play at the game with the minimum buy in.

Buying in for the minimum takes a majority of the ability out of deep stack poker. Gus is accepted to be one of the best players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amt.. I believe tv can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The best players in the world may be guys you have never heard about. Gus can be seen betting on internet poker on Full Tilt. He generally plays in high stakes omaha hi-low and texas holdem. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his abilities in money rounds?
