For a match where most participants rarely consider fortune, there are tonnes of folklore in poker. When you say that someone was blessed in that poker tournament they captured, be careful of how you mention it. For instance, if you mention that you were unfortunate, your chances may not change.

Ok, that might sound a bit strange, but poker is a game armed with folklores. Did you know that if you are betting a game with 2 different decks and you are asked to choose the deck, you should always choose the deck of cards that is furthest from you? Or, what If you get a run of bad cards, you need to sit on a hankerchief to destroy your terrible luck? It’s actually considered good luck to blow through a pack of cards when they’re being shuffled.

A few other interesting poker superstitions are:

  • You will be able to change the run of cards by passing around your chair three times.
  • The most beneficial position at the poker table looks at the door.
  • The worst seat has its rear to a fireplace.
  • When shifting chairs, you really should constantly do so following the clock.
  • The worst poker card is the four of clubs.
  • It’s very unlucky to cross your legs when sitting at the poker table.
  • Friday is a terrible day for gambling on cards.
  • The 13th is also a bad day, despite when it falls.
